Katoomba to Mittagong, NSW
Unofficial Day 1:
Trains, planes and automobiles! No - it was bus, plane, automobile, shopping centres, work, train, train, train, train, automobile.
5:00am - Double snooze check out of hotel across the road from Southern Cross.
5:45am - Skybus with 2 chirpy as f^( people sitting in front of us.
6:15am - Ridiculous queue at Virgin check in counter. Condensed luggage. There was no way we were facing that line.
7:00am - Flight to Canberra. Nadia sleeps the whole way. Sam lends his puke bag to the child behind us.
9:00am - Cathy and Tony's house to pack Sam's stuff.
10:00am - Hit the shops. It's boxing day. Mat, mugs and socks required. Could've been simple in/out at Kathmandu but it wasn't.
12:00pm - Quick drop in at work to set out of office messages and print some study material.
12:45pm - Drive to Mittagong train station. The train pulled in just as we parked the car. Sam had a quick costume change. No chance to buy a ticket, otherwise we would have had a 2 hour wait for the next train. We decided it was unrealistic to start the trek today so we called Sam's mum and arranged for her to join us for dinner in Katoomba.
